Company C claims the timing pointer is bent and fixes that and retimes the pump.Ĭompany B gets the pump back and installs, but timing isn't right, and they can't figure it out. The threads are rough, so they send it to company C to fix the threads. They pulled it, fixed the leak, put it back together, setup the pump, and everything ran fine.Ĭompany B is hired to replace the tappet cover, so they have to pull the P-pump. Why do I ask? Company A replaced a gasket behind my timing plate, not the timing cover, but the plate that requires one to remove the cam shaft. ![]() Can the engine be "two teeth off" of dead center and still be timed? Does the fact that the engine is two teeth off create any timing issues, or are those fixed through adjustments to the pump timing?
